Moonlet Signatures

In a finding with significant implications for the initial stages of planet formation and the origins of Saturn's rings, imaging scientists have spotted the telltale signature of moonlets approximately 100 meters (300 feet) in diameter lurking within Saturn's A ring. These intriguing results will be published in the March 30, 2006 issue of the journal Nature. [Press announcement here.]
