In its season of "lasts," NASA's Cassini spacecraft made its final close approach to Saturn's moon Mimas on January 30, 2017.

Mar 14, 2017: Farewell to Mimas - In a season of "lasts", NASA's Cassini spacecraft bid its final farewell to Saturn's moon Mimas on January 30, 2017. The final flyby and imaging event had a close approach altitude of 25,620 miles (41,230 kilometers), all future encounters with Mimas will be from more than 2x the distance of this flyby.
